Founded in 1968 in Neubrandenburg and privatized in 1991, the group’s business purpose was the production of fresh and frozen baked goods and their distribution via its own branches and wholesalers. The company focused on the artisanal production of its bread and cake range, which included frozen and organic baked goods. With the support of Hannover Finanz, the company was able to grow further and establish the frozen bakery products division. De Maekelboerger has been part of the Pasewalk-based company Lila Bäcker since July 2014.
