The Wandel & Goltermann Group was one of the leading providers of measurement and communication technology for the telecommunications industry. The company financed its expansion with equity capital from Hannover Finanz. In 2001, the company merged with TTC. This was followed by the renaming of the group to Acterna. In 2005, Acterna was taken over by the US company JDSU, which now operates under the name VIAVI Solutions Inc.
